Robin Spaight

Robin has lived with his family in rural Lincolnshire, UK, for 30 years.

He started fishing in 1982 in the south of England. He is mainly a fly fisherman/freshwater angler who has had the opportunity to fish in some of the most beautiful places in the UK and abroad. Most of his fishing has been on English streams and reservoirs in Scotland. Robin has been tying flies since 1990, where he was taught by his father and other international fly fishers who came to the UK. He was greatly influenced in his early fly tying by Oliver Edwards (UK) and Mike Martinak (USA), who spent many hours teaching him how to tie flies.

Robin was one of the founding members of the Lincolnshire Featherbenders. He is currently secretary of the Lincolnshire branch of the Fly Dressers Guild, as well as events secretary for the Fly Dressers Guild in the UK. Robin is also the founder with his son of Fly-tying for Autism in the UK, an organization that provides customized fly tying lessons for children and young adults with autism.

Robin has been using Renomed scissors for 20 years.

Although he ties all kinds of flies, he particularly enjoys classic wet flies and experimenting with new synthetic materials.
