My name is Michael Burgess. I am a fly fisherman and fly tier. I moved to Salida Colorado in March of 2024. I resided in St. Louis, Missouri for 40 years before relocating to Salida. I was introduced to fly fishing and fly tying a few years ago from a good friend, who I fish and tie with regularly. I love working with new materials and the creative options they bring to this amazing industry of tying. My main focus over the last couple years has been on tying nymphs and midges. I also enjoy teaching the younger generation the art of tying. Being at the hobby now for just a few years I still consider myself a rookie, so I was very honored when Renomed, Semperfli, and Gulff ask me to join their pro teams.
