Hello everyone. Let me introduce myself, I am Jan de Haas and I come from Holland. About 30 years ago I came into contact with fly fishing on holiday in Denmark.
When I got home I immediately bought a set and started fishing in Holland in the polder and on small streams in Belgium and Germany. I also started making my own flies for fishing for pike, perch and Asp.
That and practicing every day has helped to get consistency in the flies you tie, but it is also noticeable with brands such as Renomed, Ahrex, Veniard, Swisscdc, Textreme, Easyshrimpeyes, Deercreek, Smhaen and the Flycompany to name a few and I have also been included in their pro teams.
I fish of course in Holland, Belgium and occasionally in Germany on small streams, but I can also be found regularly on the Danish coast to fish for sea trout and last year I was invited to fish for trout and Arctic char in Iceland for the first time and that stole my heart, what an experience that was “great”.
Tying at fly fairs is also always a pleasure to exchange experiences with fly tiers from other countries is fantastic.
