My name is Guillermo López, I'm 37 years old. I grew up in Temuco, a city in southern Chile. Fate brought me to Panguipulli, where I currently live with my family. Panguipulli is a mountain town where wild nature reigns, the perfect place for a person like me. It's known as the Route of the Seven Lakes, allowing me to enjoy prime fishing spots. Leaving home and connecting with the river in just a few minutes is priceless. I'm a lucky man. Since I was little, I've always enjoyed fishing; it was one of my favorite pastimes. My father is my inspiration, and today I can say that fly fishing has become my way of life. Fly tying represents my passion and work, into which I've invested long hours of study and years perfecting my knowledge and techniques. I spend my days sitting by the press, tying and reviewing every moment by the river, anxiously awaiting the moment I can return to the water. I have currently joined the professional teams of Renomed, Textreme, Ahrex, Gulff, Whiting Farms, Stonfo, and Cortland. I represent these major world-class brands in Chile and Latin America, regularly participating in fishing talks and exhibitions. I am also currently President of the Caiquen Fly Fishing Club of the Los Ríos Region. I have my own brand called "Guille López Flies," through which I showcase different fly patterns, tying techniques, and entomology through my social media channels. I consider myself a versatile tyer, tying everything from classic to modern flies. Therefore, my goal is always to continue growing as a fly fisherman and tyer, to become a leading figure in my country. I developed the idea for several years, and in 2024, I founded the Chilean Fly Tying School, where I teach free workshops to children and adults in different cities across my country. The goal is to promote and instill fly fishing, providing knowledge, skills, and competencies to those who want to embark on this wonderful adventure.
